Final Essays

Know Your Meme
 For this project our group decided to look into the history of the dancing soldier through the "lady gaga" telephone video remake.

 Along with the ISTE standards, I feel that this project most definitely demonstrated creativity and innovation. For this project we had to put in our own opinions of a certain meme, and show it in a creative way. This project also allowed us to communicate with the internet world about a certain meme, and allowed us to collaborate with our group members. IN order to successfully complete this project we also had to research the origins of the dancing soldier in video's, which we were able to trace all the way back to the 1940's. As for thinking critically to use information, our group had to use the "power of our minds" to come up with an interesting way to portray the information in our meme. Lastly, we used technology appropriately in order to film this project as well as edit it. We used both imovie and the macbook pro to do this.

 I will continue to meet these standards by using imovie in my other classes as well as using this technology in the classroom.

 Podcast

 For this podcast project we chose to discuss the sidewalks in west chester because we have each had difficulties with these walk ways.

 This project allowed us to show creativity through our use of interviews. It also allowed us to communicate with people across the campus in order to complete our interviews. Also we collaborated with our group to make sure that this project was complete. Although we would have liked to do some more research on our topic, we actually did not do too much research because not much was needed. This project also caused us to think critically and solve problems. None of our group members had ever used garage band before, so we had trouble with the technology at first. After some time we were able to figure things out through. Lastly we used technology productively by completing this project on the macbook pro.

 Although this was an extremely interesting project, it would be difficult to use in the classroom just because it is fairly difficult to put together. Also I will most likely not use this for another class just because there are not many opportunities to use a podcast.

 Multimodal

 For this project I chose to write about the poem "The lost poem" by dr. seuss. I chose this poem because I have always truly enjoyed it, and I feel that other people would enjoy it as well.

 This project demonstrates creativity because multimodal projects are designed to show the creators own creativity. This project showed also how to communicate and collaborate effectively with professors. I conducted research for this project to find all of the pictures and information for this project. Through this project I thought critically, and solved problems. I had an interesting time using prezi, but after getting used to it, I didnt have too much trouble. Lastly I used technology effectively by creating a pretty interesting prezi project.

 I definitely plan on using prezi for some of my other classes. It is a great way to show a presentation without having to use the normal power point.
